gail swithenbank uses her creativity, aptitude
for whole systems analysis, and entrepreneural enthusiasm in the areas of architecture, regenerative
landscape design, and high performance building strategies. She is the principal of Loft Works Design, a firm
specializing in high-end luxury loft conversions and penthouse roof-top extensions. The company is known for
maintaining the feeling of a traditional loft and for inspired garden designs and provides services which cover
all aspects of the development process including site feasibility, zoning analysis and approvals, architectural and
interior design, and construction and development management.
Beginning her career as a sculptor
and founder/director of a non-profit arts organization she exhibited her site-specific sculpture installations widely, and
produced numerous curated exhibitions. Gail was one of the artist pioneers of TriBeCa.
Gail earned
a Master of Architecture degree from Princeton University, a Master of Fine Arts degree from
Hunter College City University of New York, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts from York University in Toronto. Gail is
a LEED AP, a certified Permaculture Designer, she studied Permaculture with Bill Mollison, Geoff Lawton and Rosemary Morrow.
